Internet Policy

The College attempts to keep the IT facilities running as smoothly as it can - to maximise the number of computers/ software available to Students and Staff. To help us do this please follow the following common-sense rules:

1.  No eating or drinking is allowed in the computer rooms.

2.  College rules on classroom manners and behaviour apply in computer rooms.

3.  Student may only use their own logins and passwords to access the College network.

4.  Students are allowed to use the College network only for legitimate educational purposes and
    to store appropriate files on the system.
    Every evening the system is scanned for viruses / inappropriate files and reports are made.

5.  You are allowed to store:
    a) College work files (wp, db. pp, graphics, etc) - agreed with your teachers.
    b) Small amounts of sound and video files – agreed with your teacher
    c) Picture files – approved by your teachers.

6.  You are not allowed to store:
    a) Any programme files (.exe), especially games – a major source of viruses.
    b) Offensive material whether text, images or music.

7.  Students are only allowed to use computer rooms when supervised by a member of staff.
