Activity One - Rent a House

For this activity there are two worksheets, you must read through all worksheets first, then attempt the questions.

Rent a house
In this scenario you are looking at a house rental company. People come to the letting agents to rent out their house. The person who rents out their house has to give some of the money they receive from renting their house to the house rental company. This is called letting agents commission. The letting agent in our scenario gets 13% of what the rent is.

The task you have is to work out using formulae what the letting agent gets on the houses for rent.

You then need to work out how much the landlord will receive once the letting agent has had their commission.

If the monthly rent was increased by £23 how much would the rent for the homeowners be?
