Curriculum Support Department (CSD) - Here to Help
C.S.D. identifies and provides for the needs of students on the SEN Record, in accordance with the 'Code of Practice on Special Educational Needs'. We also provide help for those not on the Record.
What Do We Do?
We organise reading, spelling, numeracy and keyboard skills programmes. We go into lessons across the curriculum to offer support. Additionally, we withdraw small groups and individuals for more intensive support for literacy and numeracy. We Also...
• For Years 7 and 8 we run a Lunchtime Games Club during the Spring and Autumn terms.• Mondays to Thursdays we host an afterschool drop in session for an hour after school to offer help
with homework or any other school related concerns. Students can drop in for 5 minutes or the full
hour - whatever they feel is necessary.
• We have portable word processors which can be borrowed by students for work in their lessons,
when necessary.
• For those students who want to improve their keyboard skills, we offer lunchtime 'TypeQuick'
sessions which are open to all years.
• And...here in CSD, we are accessible to all students, which we feel is very important!
In other words... we're here to help!
