UCAS APPLICATIONS
15 Year 13 students have applied to begin University degree courses in September.Courses the students are hoping to do range from Law and Criminology, Economics, Genetics, Sports Development, Film and Media Studies,Computer Game Development, Journalism, Social Sciences, Physics and Primary School Teaching.
We wish them all lots of luck!
VOLUNTEERING IN THE COMMUNITY
As part of Citizenship Studies many 6th formers are regularly volunteering to help in the community.Activities include mentoring younger students both at PCC and local primary schools, sports leadership events, visiting disabled people, helping in the College library and organising charity events.
Student Welfare and Activities Group
S.W.A.G have received lots of lovely letters of thanks from local elderly residents for delivering surprise food hampers at Christmas in conjunction with Age Concern! Students were very happy to bring some Christmas cheer to our neighbours.Our next big project is organising a week of activities to raise money for the HAITI DISASTER FUND and SPORT RELIEF.
EMAs & Grants
Sixteen-year olds are eligible for EMAs. Details from the Office. Local authorities give grants to older Sixth Form students whose families are in receipt of means-tested benefits. The Sixth Form Secretary can give further details of these grants. You can also get help with one-off expenses such as field trips and University visits.
